Hydro-Climatic Forecasting & Hydrological Modeling
Seasonal-to-interannual prediction of rainfall and streamflow, using teleconnections, statistical learning and coupled atmosphere–hydrology models such as WRF-Hydro.
Regional Catastrophe Modeling & Risk Assessment
Typhoon, flood and drought hazard and loss modeling for Taiwan, from return-period analysis to data-driven loss prediction.
Integrated & Interdisciplinary Climate Risk
Linking hydroclimate, land use, groundwater and water-resource availability (e.g., Budyko-framework assessments) to practical climate-risk questions.
GIS & Remote Sensing Applications
Evaluating and merging satellite and model products for precipitation and soil moisture; spatial analysis of hydro-climatic extremes.
Sustainability & Environmental Management
Supporting sustainable development and the management of environmental resources through quantitative hydro-climatic evidence.
Statistical Modeling & Machine Learning
Bias correction, downscaling and prediction with recurrent/convolutional neural networks, nonparametric methods and weather generators.
